Enhancing healthcare services

Across North-West Europe, access to healthcare remains uneven. People living in rural and peripheral areas often face greater difficulties in reaching essential health and care services, highlighting persistent territorial imbalances. At the same time, ageing populations in urban areas are increasing pressure on healthcare systems, raising concerns about their capacity to meet future demand.

To address these challenges, the NWE Programme supports projects focusing on improving access to services in rural and peripheral areas, developing innovative and digital care solutions, and strengthening territorial networks in health, care, and well-being, helping to build more resilient and accessible healthcare systems across the North-West European area.
