The purpose of the workshop was to have an overview of the current machine learning methods and their applications for animal production. Thus, research centres like CRAw (Belgium) and Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech (Uliège) presented the methods they are using and their practical use to determine, a.i., the prediction of bodywieght for dairy cows. In addition, several structures presented their approaches for data preprocessing.
The conclusions were that the is not one universal method, but that several methods have to be tested depending on the aim, the sample size and current knowledge.
