Public tender launched for construction of hydrogen vessel “NEO ORBIS”

The H2SHIPS project partner and pilot port, Port of Amsterdam, has launched a public tender for the construction of its new representative vessel, the Neo Orbis.

All instructions about the bidding process and other information related to the tender are available in Dutch on TenderNed [link]

Bids can be submitted on the TenderNed platform until April 8th, 2022. One month later, on May 9th, 2022, the award decision will be announced.

The Neo Orbis will replace the port’s current saloon boat and will be used to show clients around the port, Amsterdam city centre and up the North Sea Canal. It will showcase the port’s commitment to the energy transition and demonstrate hydrogen as an emission-free fuel.

More information about the vessel, its main energy source, sodium borohydride, and the Port of Amsterdam’s mission for a climate neutral future can be found here.
