Two of Valusect partners took part in the 2022 INSECTA Conference

Last Friday (16 September 2022), our partners Fontys University of Applied Science and Thomas More participated in the Insecta Conference that took place in Gießen (Germany) between the 14th and the 16th. The INSECTA 2022 conference aimed at providing an overview of the state-of-the-art in insect utilization along with the prospects and constraints of the use of insects for food, feed and non-food applications in Europe and worldwide.

Valusect’s partners contributed to this overview through a conference on "The influence of the product name on the acceptance of insect based food" by Natalia Naranjo Guevara and Sonja Floto-Stammen from Fontys University, and on “Visualization and quantification of microplastics in the gut of black soldier fly larvae (Hermetia illucens)” by Siebe Lievens from Thomas More.

Once again, Valusect and its partners were very happy to share their experience in the strengthening of the transnational cooperation and exploitation of research on insects as resources for the development of (semi) finished food products.

The book of abstracts from the conference is available here
