The Benedictine Abbey of Plankstetten are providing thermal insulation and soundproofing in the new rooms of Haus St. Wunibald with Thermo Hemp Premium from the company THERMO NATUR. The material has been built into interior walls and ceilings.
The company SPOMA Parkett und Ausbau GmbH from Magdeburg is responsible for the clay dry construction with hemp insulation in the House of St. Wunibald.

As a renewable raw material, hemp has a good CO2 balance and low energy requirements during production. It regulates the humidity in the room and is mold-resistant. Hemp is also suitable for old buildings and can be recycled without any problems.

Hemp is dust-free, unlike mineral wool, where we have to work with mouth guards. One disadvantage is that we have to cut the hemp ourselves with electronic saws. That is more time-consuming.
