From 27th to 30th November, 2018 RAWFILL participated at one of the biggest trade shows for environmental equipment, technologies and services – POLLUTEC 2018 in Lyon, France. This 40th edition gathered 73 000 professionals and 2300 exhibitors from 128 countries.
This participation was a very good occasion to give a good visibility to the project, to share first project results, to discuss with interested stakeholders about the project, to learn more about the state of the art of the landfill mining in other regions and last, but not least, to invite them to the Mid-term event which will be held on March 28th 2019 on the site of Les Champs Jouault (one of the pilot tests within the project) in Cuves, France.
During the last day of POLLUTEC project partners organized a conference entitled “Landfills II – the Return: mine old landfills, utopia, or reality ?” which attracted more than 50 participants, a real success for RAWFILL. This event allowed to provide the first practical guidelines on the following hot topics:
- How to select the most profitable sites for landfill mining?
- What are the key elements of a successful landfill mining project ?
- Could the multi-method of geophysical survey obtain reliable economic-driven data for landfills ?
In addition, RAWFILL and the landfill mining concept were also presented during a dedicated event on the stand of the French Association of Private Entrepreneurs of Waste Valorisation (SNEFiD).
