The RAWFILL partners are pleased to invite you to the RAWFILL training days that will be held on the 27th and 28th of February 2020.
The RAWFILL training days are good opportunity to learn more about geophysical technics and to discover and use the tools for Enhanced Landfill Mining developed by RAWFILL. The RAWFILL methodology coupling geophysical measurements and guided samples is a powerful method to characterize the landfill geometry and its content.
Day 1 – 27th of February 2020 – Geophysics at Sart-Tilman
The first day of training is dedicated to geophysics. During this day, you will perform geophysical surveys on site and learn how to acquire geophysical data. Four techniques will be presented: Ground penetrating radar, electrical resistivity tomography, seismic refraction profiling and H/V measurements. Moreover, we will present the landfill site of Onoz, which is the first site where a landfill mining project would be launched by the end of 2020, and the added value of the RAWFILL methodology on this site.
Day 2 – 28th of February 2020 - RAWFILL courses at ULiège (Liège city center)
The second day will be focus on the interpretation of the geophysical data and on the RAWFILL tools. In the morning, you will learn how to interpret the geophysical data acquired on Onoz site. In the afternoon, the final version of the ELIF (Enhanced Landfill Inventory Framework) and of the DSTs will be presented. You will have the possibility to test the tools on real cases studies.
Please note that the event will be held in English and in French. The detailed program can be found here.
