On Friday 28 January, ST4W hosted a knowledge transfer webinar between other inland waterway transportation (IWT) and green last-mile logistics projects, IW-NET and LEAD, with over 40 participants.
The workshop was run by Claire Baker and Anna George from Inlecom Systems and focussed on lessons learnt by the three projects and outstanding challenges in the modal shift to IWT and green last-mile logistics.
Speakers included, from ST4W, Yves De Blic (Multitel) and Muriel Andurand (CIRCOE), from IW-NET, Rik Arends and Richard van Liere (Smart Freight Co), and from LEAD, Carolina Cipres (ZLC), Claudia Ribeiro (POLIS) and Dimitra Politaki (Inlecom Systems).
Valuable lessons were exchanged between the three projects. The session finished with an interactive whiteboard session centred around outstanding challenges to the uptake of IWT and green last-mile logistics modes in preparation for a second workshop later in the year.
With the shared aims of reducing pollution and congestion across Europe's cities, the participants saw plenty of scope for ongoing exchange and synergy. Presentations and the recording of the full online workshop will be made available in due course.
