The MDD is a not-for-profit organisation co-founded by the city of Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve (OLLN) and the University of Louvain (UCLouvain). In addition to the founders, MDD cooperates with a network of actors (researchers, citizens, business and the public sector) to support the transition to a sustainable future. For instance, MDD coordinates the OLLN Energy Climate initiative aimed at creating a carbon-neutral city by 2050 (intermediate goal of a 40% reduction in emissions by 2030).
