Meeting in Luxembourg

High interest during the visit of the innovative plant of Soil-Concept

This October Soil-Concept hosted the partner meeting for the Interreg project ReNu2Farm. The project partners are from Ireland (University of Limerick, Cork Institute of Technology and Institute of Technology Carlow), France (ARVALIS Institut du végétal), Belgium (Universiteit Gent and Inagro), the Netherlands (NMI) and Germany (Outotec and IZES).

Together with the partners, the gasifier and the recycling plant of Soil-Concept S.A. were visited. First the recycling of sewage sludge and green waste was explained. The main focus was on the hygenization plant.

Afterwards the new core, the gasifier, was visited by Soil-Concept. The green waste compost and sewage sludge is converted into thermal and electrical energy in the plant. The process leaves bed and fly ash. The bed ash contains plant available phosphorus. This is used in the ReNu2Farm project and is to be used as a recycled fertilizer in the future.
