Project Partner Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council (UK) presenting RED WoLF to Electricity North West

On Thursday 16th January 2020 Project Partner Andrew Hunt from Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council met with Helen Seagrave (Community Energy Manager) and Chris Fox (Head of Business Connections) at Electricity North West (ENWL) to introduce the RED WoLF project to them. Andrew Hunt gave a PowerPoint presentation and explained what we are trying to achieve and the main features of the RED WoLF system, and asked for their view and advice as to what would be important things to consider from the Distribution Network Operator (DNO) perspective.

They thought that the RED WoLF system has great potential to solve the challenge of the electrification of heating systems in domestic properties, and said that they could help with dissemination as the project progresses. They said that they want to stay in touch as the pilots in Oldham develop. One issue they highlighted was that when a new development is being constructed, a necessary step is the specification of the grid connection for the development, and in order to do that a proper knowledge of the RED WoLF system will be needed. Andrew Hunt agreed to put ENWL in touch with the two Oldham pilots which are new build, to test this.

The attendees agreed that they would keep in touch as the pilots progress.
