VU Amsterdam is one of the biggest higher education institutions in the Netherlands welcoming more than 20 000 students. It offers Bachelors and Masters programmes and hosts multiple research centres. The IT4Anxiety VU team comes from the Faculty of Behavioural and Movement Sciences, Department of Clinical, Neuro- and Developmental Psychology, more specifically Section Clinical Psychology. This section has broad experience in research into innovation in psychotherapy, especially focused on depression, anxiety and suicidality, and is considered one of the institutions with the most important expertise in eMental Health at European level. The leader of the partner, Prof. Heleen Riper, is an expert on the subject and has been recognized as 1% most cited researcher in the field.
Within IT4Anxiety, VU Amsterdam conducts the need-assessment study as a partner for the Netherlands (WP1; Co-creation of innovative solutions starting from the needs) and act as co-leaders and experts in the execution of WP2 (Testing and validation of innovative tools) and WP3 (Sustainable implementation of innovative tools) and WP Long term. Besides that, the VU actively participates in the IT4Anxiety steering committee and ensures communication about the project in the Netherlands.
