On Saturday 20 October 2018 Kortrijk wrote a new chapter in its heat story! A 9,000-tonne tunnel was pushed under the railway and the tubes for the heating network were also extended from Kortrijk Weide to Campus West.
This connection provides a significant expansion of the heating network and makes it possible to connect the buildings of UGent and HoWest to the heating network. The residual heat of the new swimming pool can then not only heat the locations in the shed, but also the buildings on Campus West.
