Housing 4.0 Energy Presentation to BDP Architects

As part of the BDP Architect’s Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Seminars, our Irish partners presented a digitised solution to low carbon modular homes for the Irish housing crisis and their delivery through Interreg Housing 4.0 Energy. The H4.0E energy saving process, as well as the digital platform were discussed at this seminar.

Alexandra Hamilton and Ralf Kampe of 3 Counties Energy Agency (3CEA) in Ireland presented the Housing 4.0 Energy project via webinar, held on the 26th of March 2021 via Zoom. The presentation covered the project's aims and how 3CEA hopes to achieve them, in addition to discussions on the technical details of the project, such as materials and method intended for use.

The goal of the webinar was to increase awareness of the H4.0E project to potential partners. To increase awareness of embodied CO2eq costs in construction to engineers and to suggest new methods of construction.

Overall, attendees gained insight into the importance of considering embodied CO2 during construction of the property, and the activities of the H4.0E project and its objectives. Finally, the presentation also served to raise awareness of H4.0E's methodology amongst future builders/users. The seminar also counted towards a CPD accreditation for attendees.
