CRT manage 3,200km miles of historic waterways across England and Wales and are responsible for the network of bridges, embankments, towpaths, aqueducts, docks and reservoirs and hundreds of important wildlife sites. They maintain wildlife habitats to maintain the distinctive infrastructure of the network of canals and rivers. Other responsibilities improving infrastructure to facilitate more leisure boaters and waterway freight traffic and improving towpaths for cyclists and walkers.
