Bike + Business Award

During this year's Bike + Business Congress, the 9th Bike and Business Award was presented by the Hessian Minister of Transport Tarek Al-Wazir.

Thus, the event follows on from previous successes and honors the most bicycle-friendly companies in the region.

The bike + business programme, initiated by the ADFC Hesse and promoted since 2003 together with the Regionalverband FrankfurtRheinMain and since 2012 also with the Zweckverband Raum Kassel, aims to increase the use of bicycles in everyday cycling, especially on the routes to work.

Companies are supported in creating bicycle-friendly conditions for their employees. To this end, the status quo of the company is first checked and recommendations for action are made. After successful rectification, the seal "Bicycle-friendly employer" can be issued.

Companies and institutions that promote bicycle-friendly professional transport in an outstanding way are honored with the Bike + Business Award.

In 2018, the award was presented to the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences for its commitment.

In addition, companies that have already created bicycle-friendly things for their employees will also be presented. The aim is to inspire and carry ideas forward.

TheRegionalverband FrankfurtRhineMain, in cooperation with the ADFC Hessen, achieved great success at Frankfurt Airport. Fraport AG, Lufthansa and the KION Group were willing to cooperate with bike + business.

An expert opinion was prepared for Lufthansa and the KION Group and recommendations for action were made. Meanwhile, Fraport AG has promised to convert all buildings belonging to the company and thus strive for certification.

In addition to companies, the congress is aimed at decision-makers from politics, administration and business.
