What to expect? Wayfinding on cycle highway routes will be the main theme: signposting, readability, recognisability and appearance. You yourself will experience two recently developed concepts of wayfinding. The demonstration route F261 Tilburg - Waalwijk has a length of 18 km. In addition, the programme will provide insight into the latest developments concerning wayfinding with cycle highway routes from various European regions involved in the European CHIPS project (Flanders, Belfast, Gelderland, Essen, London and Copenhagen). Of course there will be plenty of opportunities for networking. This event is meant for everyone involved in cycling policy, foreign and domestic.
Programme Reception with coffee or tea will be at 9.30 hrs. After a welcoming speech, you will step onto your bike for the Cycle Highway F261 experience. Along the way you will stop for a nice lunch. You will continue the route with several pitstops on the way. From 15.30 hrs you will be welcomed at De Efteling, the end location of the day. After different presentations, a reception and barbecue we will end our day together at approximately 19.00 hrs.
Transport & stay We can assist you in booking an overnight stay at the Mercure Hotel in Tilburg (at your own expense) within walkingdistance of the starting location in Tilburg. From there you will have a bike at your disposal. You can even choose whether you prefer a regular bike or an e-bike. Are you less mobile or feeling less fit? We gladly offer you the possibility of a shuttle bus.
Registration Participation in this event is free of charge. Please register before 1 September. The registration form allows you to indicate your wishes regarding starting location, transportation and dinner. Also whether or not you wish to spend the night at the Mercure Hotel Tilburg. In case you have any dietary requirements or other specific needs, please let us know as well. After registration you will receive a confirmation.
