Innovation for Health – Codex4SMEs break-out session

Solutions don´t just appear out of thin air. To realise this, you need people with ground breaking ideas, energy, perseverance and a relentless belief in the added value represented by collaborations. You could find these kind of people at the Innovation for health congress in Rotterdam. On February 13th in the framework of the congress, the Codex4SMEs break-out session took place. Around 60 participants visited the Codex4SMEs session – that’s why almost all places of hall 4 were occupied.

This year’s topic of the Innovation and health congress was “Brain & AI”. In the session, which was hosted by Codex4SMEs, different speakers from clinical research and industry, gave insights on how companion diagnostics play a crucial role in personalised medicine. The Codex4SMEs partners have formed a group of experts, that covers clinical pharmacology, pharmacogenomics, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, pharmacometrics and bioanalytics within the department of Clinical Pharmacy and Toxicology. This combination of expertise allows the successful identification of genetic biomarkers for drug response while the clinical environment enables prompt translation to patient care.

The Interreg Codex4SMEs project plans to improve healthcare by the enhanced adoption of personalized medicine in North-West Europe and beyond. The objective is to establish a network, which supports SMEs along the whole value chain of Companion diagnostics (Cdx) development. Within this network companies get access to biobank samples, knowledge transfer service of biomarker/biobanking, transnational roadshows to venture and large companies, business model and expert access for business growth and scaling as well as tailored support dependent form the product TRL levels of the SMEs.
