Care-Peat's partner meeting in The Netherlands

On October 6 th and October 7 th 2022 , the project's partner meeting took place in the Netherlands. Our partners traveled to Zwartsluis, NL to meet and discuss the progress of the Care Peat project. As part of this partner meeting two field visits were guided on Thursday the 6 th in the morning to Care Peat site de Wieden. In the afternoon the participants visited follow-up project Fochteloërveen, a degraded raised bog. We look back on a sunny and instructive day with a varied program.

Next to the project partners a lot of Dutch stakeholders were invited. Policy makers of regional- and central governments, researchers and nature conservators joined the field trip. The visits led to interesting discussions with our Dutch guests and international partners. Friday the 7 th, next to the general management suspects, the Care-Peat partners discussed the lessons learned during the filed trip. Especially the restoration techniques of the pilot site and the scale of restoration in Fochteloërveen
were seen as impressive.
