Bernard Willems is the director and founder of Innolab.
Bernard started his career in the Technical University of Kortrijk as researcher in the field of anaerobic digestion and afterwards managed the services lab “Biogas Labo” of the Technical university.
In 2011 he started the company Innolab as a spin-off from Biogas Labo.
Innolab is a laboratory specializing in eco-process analysis and consulting in the field of anaerobic digestion, waste water and compost.
Innolab obtained the accreditation ISO17025 and is certified to conduct manure analyses for the Flemish government.
In 2014 Bernard founded the daughter company Innolab France and together with three other companies started the Croatian Company IPS Konzalting.
For Bernard, the goal in his work and research is to obtain new insights and try to enhance the process and performance under the motto “ the worst results are the most interesting”.
Because of that you will mostly find him in the laboratory sniffing, measuring, observing and trying to feel the process or products!
Nidal Aouamri is a biogas consultant for Innolab.
Nidal began working for Innolab in the middle of 2018.
Innolab is a laboratory which has specialised in anaerobic diegstion and waste water process.
Nidal hails from the region of Touraine, in the north west area of France. He graduated with a Master’s degree in Bioprocessing and Biotechnology from the Aix-Marseille University during 2017.
Before starting at Innolab, Nidal worked as a junior research engineer at Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST). The main goal was to optimize anaerobic process with a supplement of bio-nickel which is included in the aerial parts of an hyper-accumulators calls « Alyssum murale ».
He has undertaken many experiments including batch testing, maintenance and feeding of a pilot reactor, characterization of digestate and microbial communities with high sequencing techniques.
Now he is in charge of commercial and consultant activities at Innolab for the whole France and EU, offering advice on processes, organising visits on site and addressing queries on biotechnology.
In his spare time, Nidal is an active kickboxer enthusiast and loves the little pleasures of life.
