Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage Potential in Northern Ireland new report with the ALG-AD project publications

ALG-AD publications (Stiles et al, 2018 and Fuentes-Grunewald et al, 2021) are in the report of Bryden Centre from Ireland

Achieving Net Zero carbon emissions is a challenging objective. This is especially true as many key sectors will be difficult to decarbonise for technical, cost, or other reasons. For these sectors, carbon capture with utilisation/storage or offsetting may be the only practical solutions in the medium term.

Every region has a unique mix of industries and resources and so routes to best capture carbon emissions will vary. To investigate the options for Northern Ireland and impact on industry sectors the Department for the Economy asked the Bryden Centre to review available carbon capture technologies, potential economic implications, and opportunities.
