MARIN finalised the large-scale offshore wind setup in the offshore basin. A test campaign was carried out to evaluate the quality of wind produced by this configuration. With successful outcomes, the setup is now capable of testing model floating wind turbines of up to 15 MW. In addition, MARIN developed and tested an open-source 22 MW floating wind concept in collaboration with Fraunhofer IWES. IWES performed a simulation-based sensitivity study on the relevance of considering structural flexibility in FOW system tests and simulations, and integrated it’s wind turbine system model via an FMU into MARIN’s test environment.
