EU Green Week - Leveling the playing field

Online

1 June 2021

Circular use of raw material from sewage

One of the main issues in the current situation is the multi interpretation of EU legislation which unfortunately results in different national end-of-waste regulations. To really accelerate a zero pollution Europe, policy harmonisation between European Member States is crucial.

This WOW! event during the EU Green week will therefore be a panel debate focusing on policy harmonisation between EU member states in relation to raw material recovery from sewage. We believe that this is an important step that needs to be taken now since currently relevant EU policy directives, such as the EU Sludge Directive and the Waste Directive, are being reviewed and adjustments will be translated to national levels.
