MARIN is a R&D institute that has served the international maritime and offshore industry for over 83 years. It operates the largest hydrodynamic test facilities in the world to test offshore structures, technologies, and energy concepts. MARIN is able to conduct hydrodynamic and structural studies, and develops numerical models to support maritime design and engineering. Since 2005, MARIN has played an active role in the R&D of renewable energy technologies, including tidal and wave concepts.
