The Three Pillars of the German H4.0E Pilot in Lahr

The development of our prototype is aimed at creating a blueprint for digitised, industry standards for multi-story housing. The building relies on three pillars to achieve the goals of Housing 4.0 Energy:

1) Construction

The unique material concept of the building forms the basis of the project. Synthetic materials are consistently avoided, and wood is the primary material used.

2) Utilisation

Innovations in building services, designed for solid timber construction, are being tested. With a low-tech concept, it is possible to become independent of complex and expensive building services.

3) Circular Economy

The prototype sets the benchmark in terms of waste-free construction. At the end of use, the design for disassembly allows the building materials to be reused for the same purpose in new buildings.
