Worldwide 3.2 billion male chicks are killed in the poultry industry every year, because useless in egg production. In Ovo develops an early gender screening test for chicken eggs in the laying hen sector, aimed at solving this problem, identifying male chicks in the egg before hatching. In this project In Ovo develops key technology from proof of concept to prototyping (biochemic sensor technology for automated detection). And will develop new uses for the male eggs thus selected.
