BIOMEDICA ON THE MOVE 2021

From 25th to 26th May, MedLife e.V. organised in cooperation with partners from Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands the two-day-conference Biomedica on the move/MDR-CONFERENCE.NRW. The two-day conference kicked off with the Biomedica on the move and the topic of “Innovative Materials in Life Sciences”. The goal was to highlight and boost the cooperation in the Euregio (DE/BE/NL) and North-West Europe (NWE) in the context of the MDR.

The event was part of the Interreg projects MATMED (www.matmed.eu ) and Boost4Health (www.boost4health.eu ), which support SMEs in the implementation and internationalization of their products.

The virtual event attracted more than 400 participants, who benefited on the two days from the wide range of 4 workshops, 10 company pitches and 13 lectures. More than half of them participated in matchmaking, where over 85 meetings were transnational. 33 companies confirmed a possible cooperation. The participants came from Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Turkey, Great Britain, Taiwan and Finland, to name just a few.

In terms of content, 4 workshops on different topics regarding MDR brought participants from outside the topic closer to the subject. Afterwards, 3 keynotes covered the path from science to industrial application of innovations in MDR. In addition, the following 9 euregional companies were able to present their material innovations to the extremely large number of spectators: Cerhum, Vacis, Medical Magnesium, 3D-Side, IME Medical Electrospinning, Lake3D, LightFab, UPyTher and Hemovent.

All in all, Biomedica on the move was a complete success and demonstrated the innovative power and cooperation in the Euregio. In addition, a stronger networking between regional and international companies could be stimulated.
