SEAI Request for Tender Published

The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) is Ireland's national sustainable energy authority. SEAI was established by Government under the Sustainable Energy Act 2002 and has a mission to transform Ireland into a society based on sustainable energy structures, technologies and practices.

SEAI invites proposals from suitably qualified individuals or organisations for the provision of marine ecology services at AMETS for the purposes of the installation and operation of an offshore floating wind turbine at the AMETS site.

The Atlantic Marine Energy Test Site (AMETS) located off Annagh Head, west of Belmullet in County Mayo, was previously consented under a proposed development by SEAI for the development of a test site for full-scale wave energy converters (WECs).

Under the original consenting of AMETS, environmental studies undertaken included a flora and fauna assessment for the purposes of EIS.

To facilitate the development of AMETS as part of the current proposal for FOW, SEAI has a requirement for updated assessments, which may include surveying, for the marine ecology environment. These assessments will form part of the EIAR and AA for a technology deployment Foreshore Licence application.

This Request for Tender specifically deals with the requirements of the marine ecology aspects of the EIAR assessment. SEAI invites proposals from suitably qualified individuals or organisations for the provision of marine ecology services at AMETS for the purposes of the installation and operation of an offshore floating wind turbine at the AMETS site.
