Territorial Development

Territorial development refers to the geographical distribution of features in the built and natural environment as well as the patterns and flows of human activity and natural resources. It is guided by strategies and policies designed to influence land use and the distribution of activities at all levels of administrative organisation, from local to supranational.  Such strategies have a significant role to play in balancing public interests with the objectives of economic growth and competitiveness, as well as those of sustainability and social cohesion.
