INTERREG IVB North West Europe Annual Event 2009: Rotterdam 8 & 9 October
Representatives of the member states, regions and cities, stakeholders and all interested citizens took part in the 2-day event on territorial development covering all 4 priorities of the Programme (Innovation; Natural Resources, Connectivity; Strong Communities) and with a special focus on Climate change: mitigation and adaptation.
On the first day, Mayors and Vicemayors of the NWE area brought forward examples of local policies to tackle Climate Change and discussed possibilities about future cooperation.
The future of Cohesion policy was questioned by the directors of several INTERREG Programmes. They gave their personal views on what will be the post-2013 period and What we can expect from it. It was also the opportunity for those with a Project Idea to present it to a broad public and search for potential project partners
The second day presented the achievements of the Programme with approved III and IVB projects related to Climate Change. It was the occasion for project partners to meet and exchange, and also to measure the impacts/outputs of the NWE Programme.
